I am Steffi Dumrese, born and raised in the picturesque South Harz – a region that instilled in me a sense of groundedness, a connection to nature, and a deep feeling of community.
After completing my training as a business administrator, I began my professional journey in retail. For over two decades, I managed various branches with heart and mind – always aiming to lead people, strengthen teams, and greet customers with a smile.
In 2009, my path led me to Berlin, where I worked as a branch manager in a large organic supermarket. The work was demanding but fulfilling, shaped by responsibility, team spirit, and the daily balancing act between structure and spontaneity.
In 2016, my life changed fundamentally: my partner suffered a severe heart attack and fell into a persistent vegetative state. In that moment, I realised – care is more than organisation; it is compassion, love, and attitude. I knew that proper, dignified care could only happen at home.
Since then, I have dedicated my life to his care. Together with a reliable and committed care team, supporting us since 2017 under the Personal Budget, we create a daily life marked by respect, closeness, and a strong commitment to maintaining quality of life even in difficult times.
From this personal experience, a new vocation arose: since 2020, I have worked as a budget consultant. I support people in challenging life situations – listening, strengthening, encouraging. I organise the most self-determined life possible at home – not as an ideal, but as a lived reality.
